Here is some information about our Preschool

Everyday, we have snack available from 09.30AM - 10.15AM in the morning, and 14.00PM - 14.45PM in the afternoon.

We have a range of snack for the children to choose from. We have fruit and veg, (apples, oranges, grapes, watermelon, cucumber, carrot sticks, peppers), crackers, toast, pitta bread, plain croissants and cereal, (cheerios).

Snack is available for all children and to meet some of the children's dietary needs and allergies, we keep separate bowls of snack for those who need it.

We always encourage children to try their snack if it's something they have not had before. Sniff it, lick it, eat it. Sometimes, if we are able to, a staff member will have snack with the children which encourages children to eat their own snack.

As per the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), we do go out in all weathers, (sun, rain, snow). Unless, of course, we feel it is too hot for the children to go out, it is pouring down with rain, or the playground is too icy, slippery or the weather is much too cold for the children.

This does mean children should be dressed appropriately for all weathers, (jumpers and warm coats, hats, scarves and gloves in cold weather, waterproof coats and wellies in wet weather, and sunhats, and thin clothing for warm and hot weather).

When children come to Preschool, it is expected that children come in with some level of independence. This includes taking of coats and bags and having the ability to put their coats back on. We will support children if they need it but we encourage children to be independent.

When children come to Preschool, we work alongside parents to encourage children to use their manners.

Please, Thank you, I would like...

Alternatively, if your child is not talking due to speech delays, English as an additional language, additional needs or has selective communication, you can teach them to sign please and thank you, which is an effective way for children to communicate and develop their gross and fine motor skills.

We have already put this into practice in our Preschool and it has been very beneficial to all of our children.
